Mode.Radio's Weekly Mix #39--Prefuse 73--FACT Mix 496

I remember meeting Scott Herren, aka Prefuse 73, many times in Atlanta in the early 2000's. It's funny, a guy you know from regular coffee shop meetings would have been such an accomplished artist. He was a local musician and DJ in the Atlanta hip-hop and electronica scene, making some big moves to go beyond Atlanta. Born in Miami, raised in Atlanta, and currently living in Atlanta, Barcelona, and New York, Scott's specialty is sampling and incorporating those sounds into music. He also started the group, Delarosa & Asora. He has quite a few albums and EPs under his various groups and this year he has put out 3 sets, an album called "Rivington Nao Rio" and 2 EP's "Forsyth Gardens" and "Every Color of Darkness."

One of my best memories of Scott was seeing him in Berkeley at the Greek Theatre. Since I'm vacationing in the Bay Area this week, I wanted to see what he was doing and if there were any mixes out there. I found this one on FACT magazine's Soundcloud from May of this year.
