Mode.Radio's Weekly Mix #25--DJ Cullen Cole--Private Session

According to DJ Cullen Cole's bio, it all started in the early 1980’s with his parents dropping him off at his first roller rink where Cullen Cole got his first taste of disco, soul, and house. It's a great start to a great career from this Atlanta-based, house DJ. It wasn't long before he was Djing at the rink himself, as well as other local Atlanta clubs, where he was introduced to the original house sounds of Chicago and Detroit. Newly inspired by this fresh sound, he quickly found himself frequenting Atlanta hotspots like 688 Spring St., Velvet, Masquerade, The Warehouse and Sol Nightclub, where he bonded with fellow house music lover, and Chicago transplant Tommie Sunshine. The duo ran Atlanta record shop Satellite Records for many years, causing Cullen to expand his musical armory. This new role only further fueled his desire to embrace all aspects of the electronic music scene. Starting his first residency in 1997, Cullen has brought DJ's and groups such as Derrick Carter,  Larry Heard, Charles Webster, DJ Spinna, Peven Everett, ?uest Love, Ron Trent, Jazzanova, Omar, Kerri Chandler, Rich Medina, Tortured Soul, and many more. An open-minded and diverse DJ, Cullen's music is constantly innovating, presenting the classic sounds of Disco, House, Funk and Soul to Atlanta’s dancefloors. Going back to his roots with the quarterly "Adult Skate" parties, Cullen Cole is one of the last original jocks to play a strictly all-vinyl format.
