We're back with our weekly mix after a short break. I was snowbound here in Nashville for about 10 days with a toddler, so my time to post was very limited. Plus, I managed to sneak in four DJ mixes during naptime which will be coming up soon.
For this week's mix, I'm posting the latest mix from one of my favorite DJ's, Erick Morillo. I fell in love with Erick after his 2005 mix for Subliminal Records, Subliminal Sessions #9. Ever since, I've always tried to keep up with his mixes and have plenty of them in my files.
Erick was born in Colombia and raised in New Jersey. He started DJing around the NJ and NY area at 11. After working with Marc Anthony, he began working with house legend, Louie Vega. From there, he recorded the classic club song, "I Like to Move It," under the name Reel 2 Real with rapper The Mad Stuntman. He has done songs with artists such as Diddy and Madonna and remixes for Diddy. Macy Gray, LL Cool J, Whitney Houston, and more.
This mix was done on Valentine's Day this year on BBC's world famous Essential Mix and it features classics from artists such as Grace Jones, new remixes from Madonna, and tracks from Basement Jaxx,white labels from Erick Morillo and more. Enjoy!
