The first time I heard of DJ Black Coffee, I was at the New Parish in Oakland, CA at a July 15, 2011 show with OM DJ Marques Wyatt. I thought Marques was the main act, but I was pleasantly surprised when Marques opened for DJ Black Coffee. Ever since then, I have been looking for a really good mix to present on Mode.Radio and I think this is it.
Based in South Africa, Black Coffee (real name: Nkosinathi Maphumulo) has been a rising star in the deep house music scene, producing tracks and dropping great mixes. What makes his DJ style so unique is that Black Coffee is disabled. He lost his hand when he was young. So when you are watching him DJ 3 turntables, cutting rhythms, and hitting deep soulful drops, with one arm, you can't help but to be amazed. You can check out his original productions and other mixes on his Soundcloud. Enjoy!

Radio Ready--KevinO--Halloween Mix 2011
The last time we heard a mix from Atlanta's KevinO was in September, 2010. So when he sent me his Halloween Mix, I knew it was time to bring him back into the Radio Ready ranks. This mix was done live during an underground Halloween party at the Sampson Street Lofts in Atlanta, in front of 1000 people! This mix is full of deep house goodness with the feel of a late night party. You can check out all of Kevin's mixes on his Soundcloud. Enjoy!

Introducing M. Simone...
Greetings Mode.Radio listeners...I'd like to introduce you to my daughter, Michaela Simone (nicknamed M. Simone). This little lady was born on 11/11/11 (completely unintentional) and is the light of me and my husband's life. In typical fashion, she was born to an exclusive d'n'b mix by Mode.Radio Regular Little Jen, which we may feature on the website later.
Don't worry, this will not become a mommy blog! I just wanted to let you know what's up. :)
