One of my favorite festivals, the Ultra Festival (coinciding with the Winter Music Conference) went down in Miami this past week. My days of going to Miami for the festival are over (yay, mommyhood...) but I still love hearing the sets that are coming up on line from the event.
It's been so long since we've had a good techno mix on Mode, so why not have one of the best, Dubfire? Dubfire was part of the duo Deep Dish. Born in Iran and raised in the US, Dubfire (Ali Shirazinia) started Deep Dish in 1991 with a more house sound. The group won a Grammy in 2002 for their remix of Dido's "Thank You." Dubfire started producing his own tracks in 2007 and has been out on his own since.
Enjoy!

Radio Ready--DJ Shadow--All Basses Covered (The Infamous South Beach Set, 2012)
You may have read on the interwebs that in December of 2012, at DJ Shadow had his set cut short after a promoter deemed his material inappropriate for the crowd in Miami's Mansion. "They said this shit is too future for y'all," Shadow said at the time. Shadow was performing at part of a tour to promote his album, Total Breakdown: Hidden Transmissions From the MPC Era, 1992-1996. The club has since apologized, but DJ Shadow released the set in January of this year. Enjoy!

The Stash Vol. 5--Mark Farina live @ WMC 2006
The Stash, along with the Debut Series, will now upload new mixes every 2 weeks. To celebrate, one of our favorite DJs, Mark Farina, is being featured. This mix is from when Mark played Miami's Winter Music Conference back in 2006. This comes from a BBC Radio One broadcast hosted by Pete Tong. It's a great 1 hour set! Originally from Chicago, Mark moved to San Francisco. He has made a name for himself not only as a great house music DJ, but also for his Mushroom Jazz series. You can find more info on Mark Farina on www.om-records.com and www.myspace.com/markfarinaLISTEN HERE!
