Mode.Radio's Weekly Mix # 57--Buttkick--Best of 2015 Mix

The last time we featured British DJ Buttkick was in December, 2014. At the time, Buttkick was just coming back into DJing after a 15 year hiatus. Since then, he has developed a name for himself as a nu-disco DJ with an international following. This mix debuted in January this year and it reflects some of the changes Buttkick has been through this year. 

"I've had an interesting year to say the least, i got married, started a new, quite intense job and delved into the world of music production thanks to Ableton. I've enjoyed every minute of it !"

A brilliant remix of a classic on Boots R Us Music Label.

2.Yomakomba - Girl From Calabria (Caroline Remix).
One of my biggest. Gorgeous tune with some great synths released on the Spacewalker Label.

3. Leon Sweet - Sunny Bigler (Original Mix).
I was waiting AGES to get a hold of a copy of this. Leon is banging out some great stuff and this blew me away when i first heard it. Out on Trash The Wax Volume 2 on Paper Disco.

4. Tony's Way Back Machine - In The Beginning (Original Mix). Theres various remixes of this track, including the quality MiDiman remix, but this original for me is the best. I'm a sucker for pianos and this makes me smile whenever i play it. Out on Piano Pressure Volume 1 on Pole Position Recordings.

5. Kosmetique - Palace Gates (Rude Jude Remix).
Quality track on Palace Gates EP on Computer Science Label. Brilliant track, simple.

6. Mark Lower - I Got A Dream (Manuel Kane Remix)
This Kane Remix is a stunner, played it loads of times. A pleasure to mix in with. Out on Spirit Soul Records.

7. Deelicious - You Know How.
Brilliant track on Gregg Holmes' label Hot Digits Music. Gorgeous track that swings along. Love it.

8. Mark Lower & Man Of Goodwill - Time To Be Free (Mark Lower Edit).
Second Mark Lower track to make it onto my list. He's done a few collabs with Man Of Goodwill and this is a quality one. Out on Enormous Tunes Label.

9. Cinnamon Chasers - Fields (Original Mix).
Picked this up last week and it blew me away. Gorgeous synths. Out on Modus Recordings.

10. Sonic Future - I Pretended (Original Mix). Probably the biggest tune i have in my box at the moment, possibly along with the last track on this mix. This is stunning, the synths are monstrous. Out on Modus Recordings. This is the @Highlighted Track@ of the mix.

11. Jay Vegas - Say To Ya (Original Mix).
Another quality tune out on Hot Stuff Records.

12. 16 Bit Lolitas - Beat Organ (Original Mix).
When i first heard a mate of mine David Nickleford playing this i nearly passed out. Where these guys got the synth from for the main line i have no idea but it is deadly. Out on Anjunadeep. Probably the biggest tune i have at the moment.

Mode.Radio's Weekly Mix #29--Pupa Manatus--Summertime Sparkle mix

It's been almost two weeks since our last post and during that time, I've been working on trying to get a streaming radio station of all these Mode.Radio mixes. It's been more difficult than I realized, so we may have to wait on that...

So in the meantime, I checked the Mode.Radio Soundcloud group and found this great mix from 5 months ago. Pupa Manatus is from Moscow, Russia and does nu disco, house, and chill mixes. He doesn't have much of a bio, but he does have plenty of mixes. Enjoy and check out his Soundcloud page here!

Mode.Radio's Weekly Mix #23--Ladyeve--Rollerjam

Ladyeve, or DJ Eve has been a good friend of Mode.Radio since 1997 when I was working at WRAS Atlanta 88.5 FM. Eve was the host of a show called "Planet8," which was one of my first forays into electronica. Eve has moved from Atlanta to Canada and now to Mexico. Mode.Radio has featured Eve on this blog 4 times, the last time being 2011. So when we found this link to her 19th annual Xmas mix and loved the disco jams and decided to bring it to our fans. Expect the usual disco fare, starting with "All over the World" by Electric Light Orchestra, going into "Let's Groove" by Earth, Wind, and Fire, and then getting into funk nu-disco jams. As she says about the mix: "Mixed as the ideal soundtrack for the roller rink extravaganza in my heart. Made with joy for my long time friends that have brought me happiness on this journey of life music."

Mode.Radio's Weekly Mix #17--Brothers in Arms--Exclusive Discobelle Mix

J-Boogie, OM Records artist and one of many DJs featured here on Mode.Radio, has put out a mix with his side group, Brother in Arms. Brother in Arms is a collaboration between J-Boogie and Dee Jay Theory that has been together for a few years. They have produced tracks, but have also done mixes for several websites. 

Here is a little info from their website: "BIA saw their first endeavors on a limited edition 12″ via Whiskey Disco, as well as official remixes on Heavy Roc for DJ Equal, and Win Music for Eric Sharp ft. Anna Lunoe. Debut performances as a DJ duo have included support for Oliver, Classixx, Moon Boots, Poolside, Jimmy Edgar, B Bravo, Danny Daze and more. Their edits have quickly caught the attention of DJs worldwide, with plays on BBC Radio 1, KCRW, KEXP and WFMU. Previous works were included on David Heartbreak’s acclaimed “Moombahsoul” compilations, and regular DJ sets can be enjoyed at their resident “Night Moves” party with partner Papa Lu at Monarch in San Francisco."

A friend of Mode.Radio, Osmose has blessed us often in the last 3 years with Disco, Hip-Hop, and that dub reggae sound. This time, he's back with his mix "IndigoDISCO."
