Mode.Radio's Weekly Mix #35--DJ Garth--Live at Lion Rock Cafe, Oakland, CA 2003

A couple of weeks ago, a friend posted this mix on his FB page and I immediately downloaded it. I'm a lover of roots reggae and it's a part of my weekend morning routine. Plus, I was missing Oakland something fierce and I have always loved DJ Garth.

DJ Garth is a SF/LA based DJ, originally from England. He's known as a house music DJ. He started getting noticed after performances at Burning Man and Reggae on the River and put out tracks on Thrive Recordings and more. He started his own label, Grayhound Recordings in 1998 and has done remixes of tracks from A Tribe Called Quest, Perry Farrell, Adam Freeland, and more.

This mix features tracks from Rhythm & Sound with Cornel Campbell , Sly & Robbie,UB40, Black Uhuru, The Specials and more. This is a good mix for the summer time. Enjoy!

Mode.Radio's Weekly Mix #30--John EXP--Live at Sound Nightclub, LA--January 2015

Greetings from snow-bound Nashville! For this week's Weekly Mix, I'm featuring a mix from earlier this year from LA's John EXP. I stumbled upon this set after hearing about Sound Nightclub in LA and wanting to listen to some mixes done there. John EXP, aka John Alvarado, is  a Long Beach based DJ that is pretty well known for doing remixes. There's no tracklisting for this one but it's a great high energy EDM set. Hi Mode.Radio Fans!
I'm in LA this week for a conference related to my jobby-job :) So for this week's Weekly Mix, I thought that we should do a mix that in some way related to the city of Angels. Since I love DJ Shadow, I was very happy to find this mix. There's no tracklisting, but it's a freeform vinyl set with genres ranging from EDM to Rock to Breakbeat and more. Enjoy!
