For this week's mix (and in honor of Gilles Petersen's set in SF; which I missed because of mommy-ness), I stumbled upon this podcast called the Sounds of Cuba. After investigating, I found out that there is an effort to celebrate Cuban art and culture through a group called Havana-Cultura. Gilles' connection is that he has created 2 albums with the group and also hosted a remix contest of one of the tracks on the album. Enjoy this mix featuring Celia Cruz, Danay Suarez, and more!

Mode.Radio Weekly Mix #8--Black Coffee--Appreciation Mix

DJ Black Coffee is a well-known House DJ from South Africa. He has made lots of appearances in the States in places like LA, The Bay Area, NYC, Detroit, and Miami. He got his first start in 2003 as part of the Red Bull Academy and in 2005 he released his first album. He has had 3 albums since and this mix was an appreciation to his worldwide fans who gave him 700,000 likes on Facebook. Enjoy this mix!
